It doesn’t have to be a linear regulator. I’ve never tried them myself though, I just stumbled across them a couple of weeks ago. Because the L has 2 H-bridges, you can make a robot dataseet around by spinning each wheel in different directions, and of course go forwards and backwards.
User Control Panel Log out. I’ve used them to get 5 volts at a few hundred mA from a 10v – 15v input source. Sounds better than a to power a battery monitor ie. The Datashewt units are a work of Art.
They require no heatsink, run cold all the way up to their maximum rated current and happilly handle all kinds of rubbish datashset into them as an excuse for input DC Supply. Hence, users have to write their own software library. Hope this helps, Stefan.

The 5V pin on the Arduino cannot provide enough power to drive 2 motors, you may damage your Arduino if you do so. You do not need to control the steppers all the time anymore, simply send a command to I2C motor driver V1.
Input voltage is up to 30V. I’d like a very conservative way to regulate say Volts similar to thebut only need low current 5 Volt supply. Note If this is the first time you work dwtasheet Arduino, we firmly recommend you to see Getting Started with Arduino before the start.
For 5 volts no external components required. Note The first thing to notice, is that you need an external power source for your DC motors. Better Alternatives to ? I might even be able to sleep the chip when I’m currently pausing. There are also some PICs with a HV in the part number that include an internal shunt regulator so only need a single resistor to run off a higher supply voltage than the normal 5V.

They have TWO dissadvantages These small regulators are nominally capable of mA out, however in reality they are dissipation limited and you cant expect more than 0. A resistive dropper on the regulator input can help considerably, but the regulator needs a minimum ‘headroom’ input to output differential of at least 2V at maximum load current to regulate properly. An h-bridge is basically a specific setup of transistors that allow you to switch direction of current.
Not as efficient as the Recom – but you can have twenty of those for the price of one Recom! A PIC on it’s own isn’t enough load I’ve had to put a R Resistor across the 5v Rail just to draw sufficient idle current for them to be stable.

Use jumper if 5V should be supplied to the I2C bus. We only provide software library or code examples for Arduino platform in most cases.
